Four Shadows Vineyard & Winery, named for the four sons of owners Joka & Wilbert Borren, is a family effort. After nearly two decades of farming in central Alberta, the family was ready for their next adventure. They set their sights on the Okanagan and in 2011 purchased the seventeen acre estate that is now home to Four Shadows Vineyard & Winery.
A large portion of the property was established with six varietals of grapes but had been neglected for several years, leaving it in a state of disrepair. The Borrens had no previous viticulture experience, but their backgrounds in agriculture, their knowledgeable consultants and the assistance of their sons allowed them to restore the property.
They became established as a vineyard, planting more vines and providing quality fruit to wineries across BC. After six years of focusing on viticulture, Joka and Wilbert held back a portion of the 2017 harvest and began crafting wines under their own label.
Four Shadows Winery opened its tasting room in 2019 and has evolved from hidden gem to a must-visit stop on the iconic Naramata Bench. Each year, their wines continue to prove their quality by winning awards and selling out.
With a casual, friendly and informative tasting experience, the Borrens and their staff take pride in sharing the wines and the stories of Four Shadows. Visit the tasting room daily between May and October, or visit their website for a list of retail and restaurant locations to purchase their wines.
